Argillà Italia is the International Ceramics Festival and Market Exhibition held every two years in Faenza, Ravenna, Italy, on the first weekend of September.

Starting with the first edition in 2008, the city of Faenza welcomes ceramists, artists and professionals on this occasion for the long weekend dedicated to Ceramics.

Argillà Italia offers visitors a pleasant stroll through the historic center of Faenza, among the stands of the international exhibitors (in 2016, there were over 20 nations represented), presenting their Best production of art and craft ceramics, ranging from art, sculpture, design, home accessories and fashion accessories.

There are also numerous cultural events alongside the market exhibition that make up the festival dimension, including the Mondial Tornianti (historic international lathe competition), exhibitions, spectacular nightly kiln firings in the open air, concerts, children’s ceramic activities, workshops, and lectures.

Argillà Italia has established itself over the past few editions as the One of Europe’s leading ceramic festivals: an event of great appeal for enthusiasts and the public, but also an important moment of meeting and comparison among the operators of the ceramics system and a unique opportunity to network nationally and internationally. All in the setting of Faenza, one of the world capitals of maiolica (from which it originates in name
Faïence
), a city whose cultural identity is strongly linked to ceramic production, which even today is a European and world reference point in this field.

Argillà Italia was founded in 2008 as a spin-off from the French “mother” event Argilla, which has been held in Aubagne, near Marseille, since 1991, carrying forward the high quality of exhibitors, audience and cultural program, offering a truly international look at contemporary ceramic production.

Argillà Italia is organized by Fondazione MIC – Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza, together with the Municipality of Faenza and in collaboration with AiCC – Associazione Italiana Città della Ceramica.
